Description

To engage a supplier to provide secure guillotining, scanning and data capture of HSC examination booklets annually.

Project goals

This project is a high-profile operation of national significance and of importance to students and schools in NSW. Scanning services specifically enhance the on-screen marking capabilities and bring efficiencies for high stakes HSC marking operations. Therefore, appropriate measures and resources should be put in place to help secure the successful delivery of NESA’s onscreen marking component of the contract.

In order to maintain confidence in NESA’s ability to meet these goals, the information collected as part of this work is required to be kept secure from unauthorised access. The contractor must put in place and maintain all facilities, procedures, equipment and practices to ensure that all printed materials and data are always physically and electronically secure while handling NESA’s exam papers

Scope

• Guillotine, scan and upload delivered HSC scripts, in accordance with the agreed schedule
• Protect the integrity of the NSW Higher School Certificate by ensuring the security of examination papers and enhancing the on-screen marking capabilities
• Ensure that services are conducted in a way that aligns with NESA values including respect and responsibility, equity and justice, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability.

Tender 711 External Scanning Services for HSC 2026-2029

The purpose of this Request for Tender (RFT) is to seek quotes for the provision of HSC External Scanning Services as per the supplied specifications.

NESA requires a Scanning service provider with a strong security focus. The supplier is to work in close partnership with NESA for the timely scanning of HSC examination papers as per the requirements provided to the supplier in Q3 each year. A sample schedule is provided in Appendix A. Papers are then distributed electronically for online marking.

Prospective tenderers are invited to submit quotes for the guillotining, scanning and data capture of selected papers on an annual basis. Parameters are listed at Section 2.4 and sample booklet in Appendix B.
