RFI - Transport Management Centre (TMC) - Core Systems Replacement

Request for Information (RFI) for Transport for NSW (TfNSW) Transport Management Centre (TMC) Core Systems Replacement.

Project goals

This RFI is for the TfNSW Transport Management Centre (TMC) - Core Systems Replacement. The TMC is currently constrained by legacy systems and operational tools that are no longer fit for purpose in supporting the evolving demands of transport operations. Some of these critical systems have reached, or are reaching, end-of-life, resulting in performance degradation, reliability concerns, and limited scalability.

As the organisation transitions to a statewide operating model—incorporating integrated multi-modal network management across the entire state—the following pain points highlight the limitations of the current systems:

• Legacy systems with persistent performance and reliability issues.
• Logging-centric tools that hinder dynamic network management and operational agility.
• Absence of real-time decision support and predictive capabilities.
• Inflexibility in adapting to multimodal transport needs and increasing operational complexity.
• A fragmented architecture resulting in overlapping products and duplicated tasks.
• Aged and centralised infrastructure that does not support the statewide operating model aspired for in non-metro areas.

TfNSW is preparing for the next generation of transport network management. TfNSW seeks insights into how the industry can support the shift from legacy constraints to a modern, resilient, and customer-centred operating environment for the future of New South Wales.

Please note that this RFI event will be managed using TfNSW ARIBA. Once invited to the RFI event in ARIBA, Tenderers will be required to provide a signed Supplier Confidentiality Deed Poll for review and acceptance by TfNSW.
