ASTP Scheme provides the Department of Education with access to providers who transport students with disability.
The services to be provided under the Assisted School Travel Program (ASTP) Scheme is the transportation of one or more eligible students with disability on a route within a specified locality or localities, between home and school, or other destinations determined by the Department.
The role of the Contractor is highly regarded in the community requiring a high level of responsibility, professionalism, quality and duty to ensure the welfare of students being transported. Contractors will be required to supply suitably qualified Drivers and Vehicles while fulfilling the requirements of the service.
Contactors may be offered a service based on student need in accordance with the ASTP Scheme Conditions and ASTP Agreement. There is no guarantee that being added to the ASTP Scheme will result in the award of transport services.

If you are an existing provider wishing to novate your business in accordance with the ASTP Agreement, attach a NSW Statutory Declaration Form - declaring the reason for a change in entity/structure and that neither entity is going into liquidation.
The new entity must submit this application and not perform any services until approved in writing by the Department.
There is no guarantee that the Department will approve a novation or assignment of the ASTP Agreement.
If the novation request is not supported this application may be considered as a new provider (if you do not wish for this to occur, please refer to this in the attached Statutory Declaration).
