Description

Description

Request for Tender from a single supplier, or a consortia tendering under a single supplier, to deliver the next contract of the NSW Health Commercialisation Training Program.

Project goals

The Office for Health and Medical Research (OHMR) is seeking a Request for Tender from the open market from a single supplier, or a consortia tendering under a single supplier, to deliver the next four year contract of the NSW Health Commercialisation Training Program (Program), from 2026 to 2030.

The successful tenderer needs to have the specialist skills, knowledge, and networks required to design, deliver and manage the Program to equip innovators in NSW with the development and commercialisation skills necessary to turn early-stage life sciences and medtech innovations into successful products and companies that deliver new treatments and diagnostic techniques to improve health outcomes.

Scope

The tender scope is for the supplier to design, deliver, manage, promote, monitor, evaluate, and report on the delivery of the NSW Health Commercialisation Training Program (Program).

The Program needs to include delivery of foundational to specialisation-level training and mentoring in commercialising medtech and biotech. Foundational training should cover foundational topics such as introductions to commercialisation, intellectual property, regulatory and reimbursement, clinical trials, and navigating the healthcare system. In-depth or specialised training should focus on areas such as building a business or other commercialisation strategy, attracting investment, and validating medtech and biotech innovations with customers, and commercialisation pathways for specific fields of medtech and biotech, including medical devices, software as a medical device, diagnostics, therapeutics, and other emerging fields of medtech and biotech commercialisation. The Program must build relevant commercialisation capability for researcher, clinician, entrepreneur and intrapreneur contexts, including tailoring content and providing equity of access as appropriate to commercialisation pathways where creating a business is required and commercialisation pathways for those working in the public health system.
