Project goals

Taronga Conservation Society Australia is seeking to engage a high-quality, reliable, and sustainable service partner to provide housekeeping, cleaning and linen management of its two unique accommodation offerings at Taronga Zoo Sydney:

i. Roar & Snore – an immersive glamping experience featuring 17 safari-style tents and communal facilities.

ii. Wildlife Retreat at Taronga – a premium eco-accommodation comprising 62 guest rooms, suites, and public areas

These unique properties form a core part of Taronga’s broader visitor experience, enabling guests to engage deeply with wildlife, conservation, and the natural environment through memorable overnight stays.

The successful contractor will be responsible for providing consistently high‑quality housekeeping and cleaning services that reflect Taronga’s sustainability objectives and its commitment to exceptional guest experiences. Through this engagement, Taronga aims to:

· Achieve best value for the delivery of housekeeping services;

· Ensure reliable and efficient service provision across both sites;

· Improve environmental performance by supporting eco-conscious operations and products;

· Support inclusive practices, with consideration given to regional, Indigenous, and disability enterprises where applicable.

Scope

The successful contractor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, highest quality housekeeping services that support Taronga’s operational standards and environmental goals. The services include, but are not limited to daily services to guest room cleaning and turnover, public areas and facilities, linen and laundry management, bedding adjustments, waste and recycling management, emergency cleaning services, supplier coordition.

The contractor is expected to work collaboratively with:

· On-site Taronga Operations and Front Office teams

· External linen, waste, and pest control providers

· Third-party contractors operating in shared spaces (e.g., facilities maintenance, landscaping)

· Taronga’s Chief Warden during incident response

Taronga’s preferred pricing model is a fixed daily rate per guest room/space. However, alternative commercial models may be proposed for consideration.

A tender briefing session will be held at Taronga Zoo Sydney on Wednesday, 25 February 2026 from 12:00pm to 2:15pm.

To attend, tenderers must register by completing their organisation details and emailing procurement@zoo.nsw.gov.au no later than 2:00pm on Friday, 20 February 2026. The email subject line must state: “C2025.047 RFT Housekeeping.” Attendance is limited to a maximum of two (2) representatives per tenderer.

A calendar invitation, including further details and the briefing agenda, will be issued on Monday, 23 February 2026.

Parking is available at Taronga Zoo’s multistorey car park on Bradleys Head Road.
