Sydney Metro will run a two-stage EOI and RFT for the Southwest ATL Package, due Q1 2026. Bidders need proven D&C experience over $50M, safety excellence, and capability in rail and public domain work
Sydney Metro is required to improve east-west pedestrian and cyclist facilities betweenSydenham and Bankstown and deliver the ATL within 24 months following the commencement of operations on the Southwest Metro. Sydney Metro intends to deliver this through a two-stage procurement process, comprising an Expression of Interest followed by an Open Request for Tender in Q1 2026. The objective is to engage a contractor with proven capability and experience in design and construction under a D&C contract, ensuring compliance with standards, safety requirements, and successful delivery of a pedestrian and cycling route between Sydenham and Bankstown Stations.
This project encompasses the design and construction of a pedestrian and cycling route between Sydenham and Bankstown Stations, in accordance with Stage 1 documentation and supplementary information provided by Sydney Metro. The appointed contractor will be responsible for delivering all “Approved for Construction” documentation, undertaking pre-construction activities, and securing agreements necessary for the successful commencement of works. A comprehensive project program with agreed milestones must be developed and managed to ensure timely delivery. The scope includes coordination of design development and participation in regular stakeholder meetings with Sydney Metro, Transport for NSW, local councils, residents, businesses, and other relevant entities. The contractor must facilitate consultation, design, documentation, and obtain approvals from utility providers and authorities impacted by the project. Additional requirements include preparation of a wayfinding strategy, provision of clear signage to stations and bicycle parking facilities, and integration of lighting with existing local supply where required. The contractor must monitor environmental and community impacts, including tree removal and commuter parking, and uphold the planning commitment of “no net commuter car parking loss.” All works must comply with applicable standards, safety regulations, and stakeholder expectations to deliver a safe, accessible, and integrated ATL.
