Statewide Welding Fumes Compliance - Mechanical Ventilation Upgrade

Description

Confirm existing mechanical ventilation system performance to 14 sites across NSW, design and install new flexible fume arms, as well as any associated fan upgrades to improve fume extraction.

Project goals

TAFE NSW are proposing to conduct a tender by invitation to enter into a construction contract for FY25/26 for the statewide welding fumes extraction upgrade program, to achieve compliance with the new Workplace Exposure Limit (WEL) standards (1mg/m3).

Scope

The indicative timeline for each site includes:

· Desktop validation of existing services and identification of gaps to be completed within 1 week of award

· Detailed Design and investigation of gaps in site documentation to confirm proposed scope of works for construction within 4 weeks of award

· Construction work to be completed within 2-4 weeks after design approval

· Procurement of all new equipment and plant will be managed by contractor to meet timeline requirement.
