Description

Description

The Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) has received funding under the Key Health Worker Accommodation (KHWA) Program for acquisition of KHWA in proximity to the Tweed Valley Hospital (TVH).

Project goals

NNSWLHD, through the delivery of the project, seeks to:

  • Attract, recruit and retain key health workers in the Tweed region by providing reliable, well-located accommodation near the TVH
  • Provide self-contained, fully furnished dwellings in a safe and secure environment, suitable for short to medium-term stays
  • Understand KHWA, and potentially broader, development opportunities for the TVH campus that can provide support to overall healthcare service delivery
  • Achieve value for money outcomes via a future formal RFP, or similar, process that identifies a preferred delivery partner or partners

Scope

The NNSWLHD is seeking information from potential development and delivery partners to support the acquisition of ~15-25 KHWA for the TVH. Opportunities that exceed this requirement, and/or the NNSWLHD’s funding allocation under the Program, may be considered on a long-term lease basis (or similar).

Relevant pathways for the delivery of this accommodation may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Development and delivery of KHWA by development partners that own (or can acquire) suitable sites within ~10-minutes drive of the TVH, for acquisition by the NNSWLHD upon completion
  • Purchase of existing/ refurbished accommodation by the NNSWLHD on suitable sites within ~10-minutes drive of the TVH
  • Development and delivery of KHWA on NNSWLHD-controlled land within the TVH campus footprint. This accommodation may have scope to be delivered as part of a broader residential or mixed-use development to support the overall delivery of healthcare services

Through the release of this RFI the NNSWLHD is seeking to provide relevant information to the market and gain visibility on suitably qualified and experienced delivery partners that can deliver the accommodation. Parties with an interest in this project are encouraged to register their interest accordingly by executing the Confidentiality Agreement and completing the associated Microsoft Forms survey at this link: Tweed Valley Hospital Key Health Worker Accommodation (KHWA) Project.
