Project goals As the Tourism and Major Events agency for the NSW Government, Destination NSW is the lead agency, champion and voice for the visitor economy in NSW. The NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2035 (VES) has set bold and ambitious targets including a target of $91 billion to be generated in annual visitor expenditure by 2035. One of the core strategic pillars of the VES is to Drive Growth Through Events. The Men’s Rugby World Cup is the world’s third largest international sporting event, and the 11th edition of the tournament will be held in Australia from 1 October until 13 November 2027. New South Wales will host a total of 17 tournament matches, of which 13 will be played in Sydney – including both Semi Finals, the Bronze Medal match and the Final. In partnership with Rugby World Cup Australia (Local Organising Committee), Destination NSW will deliver a ‘Rugby Village’ in Sydney – a dedicated Fan and interaction site for Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027.

Scope The procurement of an Event Activation Services provider is integral to the successful planning, implementation and delivery of the Rugby Village in Sydney. This Procurement will be for event agency services to plan, program, manage and operate the Rugby Village at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour throughout the Tournament period.
