The Supplier must provide Horticulture and Landscaping services at the Museum’s owned and leased sites across the Australian Capital Territory over a 3-year period (with a potential further 3 years at the option of the Museum). Details of the services required are outlined in the following attachments: • Attachment A – NMA Garden Maintenance Specification – Forecourt. • Attachment B - Forecourt Garden Asset Identification drawing set. • Attachment C – NMA Garden Maintenance Specification – Other areas. • Attachment D - NMA Acton site - landscaping map. The Museum is responsible for housing, preserving and presenting a vast collection of objects representing the people and places in Australia’s History and Culture. The grounds of the Museum must be maintained and presented to a high standard, so all visitors enjoy their visit, and they complement the site of one of Australia’s most important Cultural Institutions in a building of significance in our Nation’s capital. The Museum requires the grounds of its satellite repositories to be neat, clean, tidy and well presented with a strong focus on fire mitigation, deterrence of vermin and rainwater run off management. Due to the ever-changing challenges of the four seasons of the year, natural occurrences within the environment and unpredictable weather events, the organisation that is successful must be able to accommodate all challenges with commitment.
Potential suppliers must attend the Mandatory Industry Briefing and all Site Inspections as detailed above. Failure to attend will render the tenderer ineligible to participate. The potential supplier must have an established base in Canberra or surrounds and have a minimum of 10 full time employees. Potential suppliers must provide a fully compliant response. Where potential suppliers wish to propose an alternative approach to managing any of the gardens from that set out in the Requirement, they should include the proposed approach as an alternative proposal Part Tenders will not be accepted.
Mandatory Industry Briefing 9.00am – 12.00 noon on Wednesday 4 February 2026, starting at the National Museum of Australia (the Museum) Acton site. Meet at the main entry at 8.55am. Intention to attend must be confirmed by email to the contact officer no later than 12 noon Tuesday 3 February 2026.
Proposed start date of the contract is 10 April 2026. The proposed Contract will remain in force for a period of 3 years from the date the Contract is entered into.
