Design Director (Strategic Innovation Operating Model Designer) will support the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing in designing the system-wide operating model needed to build a collaborative, learning-oriented innovation capability across the Australian Public Service (APS) and the wider health and care system.This role focuses on how system behaviours, stakeholder incentives, and cross-sector dynamics can enable both experimentation and systemic learning. It will define the structures, governance, roles, and value exchanges that allow coordinated innovation, distributed capability development, and sustained system transformation.The role is critical to advancing the Department’s innovation direction, building a shared framework for innovation across the portfolio, and creating mechanisms that link local pilots to national system learning.
