DFAT-1061: Australia Pacific Leaders Program (APLP) - Program Support

Australia is backing Pacific leaders, whose collective voice and unity is driving regional approaches to shared challenges and priorities. Australia’s International Development Policy commits to supporting local leaders to address the barriers holding back progress through Pacific-led, Australian-backed solutions, in line with the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent (the 2050 Strategy), and the Pacific Islands Forum’s priorities. The Australia Pacific Leaders Program (APLP) complements the 2050 Strategy by offering a coherent program of activities with the goal of empowering and enhancing Pacific leadership and contributing to deeper, enduring relationships between Pacific leaders and Australia to advance Pacific Island Countries (PICs)’ resilience, stability and sustainable development. APLP’s objective is to support key current and emerging Pacific leaders to enhance their ability to drive locally led initiatives that improve resilience, stability and sustainable development outcomes, including through enhanced understanding of, and ability to leverage the range of support that Australia provides. DFAT is seeking a Contractor to establish and deliver a Program Support Unit (PSU) to support implementation of the APLP, under DFAT’s leadership. The PSU will deliver a range of technical assistance to support implementing and designing activities, as well as planning and effectiveness.
